The submission of the abstracts takes place through the access to the User Panel from mid-March 2021. To access the User Panel it will be necessary to fill in the registration form by accessing the "Registration" menu.
For the insertion of the abstract (maximum two abstracts per author with the role of 'presenter'), the following input fields must be completed:
• Title
• Authors. They must be inserted in the format "Surname, space, initial of first name followed by a dot" (Ex. Rossi G.). The co-authors must be separated by a comma and marked by a number for identifying the affiliation.
• Affiliations of the co-authors (extended text without postal address)
• Reference session of the contribution, through the relative drop-down menu
• Key-words
• Summary. It must be written in English, and any bibliographic references in full must be entered in the appropriate form with a maximum of 3000 characters (spaces and bibliographic citations included). It must be composed of text only, without tables or figures. The use of footnotes is not allowed. Bibliographic citations in the text must be indicated in round brackets: author's surname, comma, year of publication. Multiple works cited in series must be in chronological order and separated by semicolons (Ramsay & Huber, 1987; Hobbs et al., 1990). The list of the cited literature must be in alphabetical order and must include all, and only, the bibliographic references mentioned in the text. References may be made to accepted papers actually being printed in journals, whose name and volume are mentioned, and to dissertations and doctoral theses. Quotations of works being prepared or being approved for printing are not allowed. The list of bibliographic references must be compiled in alphabetical order on the name of the first (or only) Author, the second Author, the third, etc. Several articles by the same author (s) published in the same year must be indicated with lower case letters after the date (a, b, ... n). The authors are indicated with the surname followed by the initial of the name and a dot; in the case of multiple Authors, their names are separated by a comma and the last Author is preceded by the & sign. After the initial of the Name of the last (or only) Author, the date of issue, followed by a dot and then the title of the work in Roman (round). After a point, the name of the periodical in Roman, reported according to the usual abbreviations, followed by the volume number, the initial page and the final page of the work in reference indicated with only the digits (example: 457-632). All these numbers are separated by commas and closed by an end point. Here are some examples:

Mathematical formulas, if not recognized by the system, can be sent to the secretariat as an image file (.jpg). The text can also be entered by copying from an external editor, in this case it is advisable to check the final result, paying particular attention to the presence of accented letters.

Once the "Send" button has been clicked, the summary will be sent to the congress secretariat for subsequent evaluation by the co-convener of the reference session. At the same time, an email message will be sent to the author with the summary of the data entered and a code necessary to make any changes.

In case of problems with sending the confirmation email, the list of summaries entered by the user will still be available in the user panel.

As usual, the volume of summaries will be published by the Italian Geological Society.
