Since its formation 4.56 billion years ago, the Earth has been shaped by complex geodynamic and tectono-metamorphic processes. This complex history is imprinted in the crustal rocks in the form of mineral assemblages, microstructures and geochemical signatures. To interpret these "geological archives", a forensic approach based on petrology and petrochronology, integrating metamorphic geology, petrology, geochemistry and geochronology, is now essential. Thanks to cutting-edge techniques, it is possible to quantify key variables (P-T-x-D-t) and reconstruct the evolution of the Earth's crust. This session welcomes contributions ranging from field studies to experimental, computational and microstructural petrology. We strongly encourage the participation of young researchers.
