This session brings together contributions that demonstrate the use of structural analysis at all scales, from the grain scale to plate margins, to understand and unravel the processes active in the construction of present and past orogenic belts. The session is held in memory of Guido Gosso, who was among the first to connect different scales and approaches across different orogens worldwide.
