The goal of the session is to spread the culture of Earth Sciences in schools and throughout society and to improve collaboration between teachers and scientists in educating the next generation of citizens about the geosciences. New approaches and methods for geoscience education will be presented and discussed, with a particular focus on innovative experiences related to caring for the planet in terms of resource management, protection, and risk education. Teachers of all levels and researchers are invited to participate and contribute their projects and activities. The session will also be an opportunity to present and discuss best practices in Earth Science teacher training. A volume of the Rendiconti OnLine of the Italian Geological Society (ROL-SGI) is planned for publication in the "Geosciences at School" series.
